Vertical's team of account executives is highly skilled and hard-working. Led by COO Rick Dell, they are on the front lines of delivering the Vertical Difference to customers—bringing expert consultation and design, white-glove installation, and world-class service and support. Our sales team uses a unique 6-step process, from the initial consultation to custom design and development to ensure that customers are getting the right fit for their business:
What's so special about our team?
They're attentive, persistent, and among the highest-performing sales teams for any company our size in the industry. Customers and prospects love them. "We go the extra mile," says Bob Swartzel, one of our account executives who has been with Vertical for almost 12 years, and has been working with telecommunications for over 40 years. "I don't leave customers hanging. I tell them, 'When you sign, you're stuck with me.' And that level of familiarity is really why our customers love us so much." Bob isn't the only member of our sales team with experience. Most of them have been with Vertical for 8+ years—Kevin McCloud has been with Vertical for 13!—and have been in the industry even longer. Our customers appreciate having a consistent and familiar face every time they reach out with a question—and don't have to worry if we know the ins and outs of their system.
What our customers quickly learn about our account executives is that we don't just sell a product and then move on. We stay in contact, providing open communication and checking in to make sure things are going well. For example, John Ulchak spent 7 years checking in with one of his customers, staying a familiar face as other vendors changed. When they were ready to upgrade their system, choosing John and the team at Vertical was a no-brainer!
Our account executives are also proactive about ensuring that their customers' Vertical solutions will adapt and adjust as technologies advance and your business grows. That's why they periodically offer Customer Experience (CX) health check-ups. These check-ups identify key areas for optimization and growth, resulting in drastic Return On Investment (ROI) improvements. It's just another way the Vertical sales team goes above and beyond!

Positioned for Growth
Together the Vertical team serves hundreds of customers, spread across each of the lower 48 states. including over 160+ SLED customers. In 70% of the SLED Request For Proposals (RFPs) we pursue, we reach the finals. And once we're there, we close 50% of them. Those stats are unheard of! Leading the pack in our RFP responses are Kevin McCloud, Tammy Stang, and Neil Sabot.
